John Ramsey

John Mark Ramsey, a kind, creative, and interesting soul, passed away on May 21, 2023, in Bakersfield, CA. Born on April 29, 1977, in Paris, TX, John spent every moment of his 46 years breathing life into everything he touched. John is survived by his significant other: Jackie Kilmer of Bakersfield, CA; their son: Warren Ramsey of Bakersfield, CA; bonus sister: Jacqueline Kilmer of Bakersfield, CA; sisters: Kathy Garza and her husband Joel of Savoy, TX, and Julie Winters and her husband Lionel of Atoka. He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Louise Ramsey; grandparents: Edgar and Mary Beavers and Mary Ramsey. John graduated from Antlers High School and was blessed with many friends throughout the years. From a young age, John found his passion in the musical talents. Despite his dedication to cooking, John never stopped nurturing his musical aspirations. He was a kindred spirit for those around him, often using his music and poetry to bond with friends and to capture and preserve his fondest memories. John played numerous music gigs in different places, and he was a proud member of several different talented bands. His creative genius also extended to writing heartfelt poems and captivating stories that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of reading them. In addition to being an artist on the stage, John was a true lover of nature. He thrived in the outdoors, and one could often find him playing his guitar and composing songs outside. The world was his sanctuary, and he relished every opportunity to commune with the natural world. John’s creative spirit was evident not only in his works of art but also in his relationships with those around him. Despite the tremendous pressures that came with his professional life, he consistently found unique ways to express his love and appreciation for those he held dear. His genuine kindness and unwavering devotion brought light to the lives of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In honoring John Mark Ramsey’s extraordinary life, let us remember his kind heart, creative spirit, and the indelible impressions he left on the world. Memorial services will be held July 22, 2023 from 2-4PM at Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers. Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
